This is our chance and the 2019 election is weeks away!
The time has come to elect more women to the New Jersey State Assembly. This year’s Assembly election is crucial. Under Governor Murphy and the Legislature, we funded Planned Parenthood and women’s access to health care; passed Domestic Violence legislation and strengthened our gun safety laws and passed Equal Pay legislation, but there is more to do.
We are going to need help and support from more women in the New Jersey Legislature. That’s why we are reaching out to you.
This appeal is on behalf of a particular group of women candidates. They are the wonderful, talented, brilliant and able women from around the State who have stepped up to run for the State Legislature against incumbent Republican Assembly members. Our new Vice Chair of the Democratic State Committee, Peg Schaffer, is fully committed to this effort and has offered her support as well as that of our great Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver.
I have met personally with most of these women and was so impressed that along with PAM’s List, we agreed to make a special appeal to each of you on their behalf. PAM’s List is a continuing political committee that raises money to elect pro-choice Democratic women to the NJ State Legislature.
We are asking the women of our State Committee to raise or donate $500.00 to PAM’s List to be distributed to this wonderful group of women candidates. Whatever amount you can do, would be appreciated.
Women have sometimes felt a little overlooked by our Party, but we are stepping up to let them know how important they are to the future of our State, to our Party and to each of us. You are the women leaders of our Democratic State Party. They need you now.
