Help Make A Difference

Hello, my name is Christopher Harris and I am running for Alexandria City School Board - District A. 

I am a 4th generation Alexandrian, a graduate of T.C.Williams H.S. and a product of the Alexandria City Public Schools. My commitment to the city has been demonstrated by raising my 3 children through the system, my 5 years as varsity football coach and mentor of T.C.'s student-athletes, the 2 years as substitute teacher of 9-12th grade students, and currrently serving the city as Vice-Chair of the Alexandria Human Rights Commission and President of Alexandria Branch of the NAACP.

I am continuing to pursue my passion of service by representing our children on school board.I understand the seriousness of the decisions that face school boards and the long term impacts that they have on our children and our community.

I plan to use my experiences as a student, a mentor, and a parent to assist in guiding ACPS in a direction where every child is inclusive and educational parity becomes the standard.

My campaign will focus on these key issues:

• Closing the Achievement Gap in ACPS
• Overcrowding / Classroom Capacity
• How to better support our Teachers
• Constructive Partnerships
