It's 2022 and the State Legislature continues to ignore the needs of the people. Just this year, they have passed bills that criminalize homelessness by making it a felony to sleep on public property, they passed a voucher bill that subsidizes private education with public education dollars, and completely changed the formula for school funding to further benefit private, unaccredited and unaccountable private eduction entities. They continue to sit on millions of dollars of federal aid for families in need(TANF), and their $4 Billion and counting "Rainy Day Fund." To be blunt, the Tennessee General Assembly only care about themselves and their corporate donors while ignoring the needs of Tennesseans who are struggling with low wages, coupled with the rising costs of healthcare, education, and housing.
