Global Partnerships is a non-profit organization who embarked on providing support to the people in Ada, Ghana. Over the last three years we have had the opportunity to contribute to their learning experience by donating essential items to the island school and community. In April of 2018 we were able to build a water well for the community and supply them with shoes from a corporate donor.
We are currently arranging another service learning trip for a group in April of 2019. Our group will be comprised of teachers and students from Western NY, along with participants from other states as well. Our main objective is to reach out globally to promote educational infrastructure in other countries. We will continue the work in Ada, Ghana this year and, in addition to revitalizing educational programs in a local school, we are also building a functional latrine to serve the students, staff, and community.
Upon arriving to the school we immediately recognized the needs of the students. Many of them did not have shoes or clothing that was intact. Although, they were extremely grateful for the school supplies we brought with us, our later assessment confirmed the need for basic essentials. During our stay we experienced children that were not only shoeless but, wore clothing that was tattered beyond repair. Our team members decided to reach out for your support for a monetary donation to our cause.
