I graduated from Cornell College in 2006, then completed my Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Kansas in 2009. My husband, Brian, and I were fortunate to be able to make the decision for me to be a stay-at-home-mom after our son, William, was born. This opened up the opportunity for me to become a full-time advocate and use my background in professional local government management to benefit a growing gun violence prevention movement: Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.
I have been a dedicated advocate for the safety and well-being of children and families, and this journey has led me here. I am running for reelection to Kansas House of Representatives District 17 so that we can keep pushing for policies that would provide relief for all Kansans. We must take meaningful action to have the best schools, adopt responsible budgets, make sure that all Kansans have access to health-care and affordable prescription drugs, and pass sensible gun laws that save lives.
