South Eugene’s City Councilor Matt Keating

~ South Eugene’s City Councilor ~

Matt Keating is a strong proponent for:

  • Affordable housing, especially housing along transportation routes;
  • Critical climate action and pro-clean energy strategies;
  • Frontline workers, first responders, and workers’ rights;
  • An equitable clean-energy future for our kids & grand kids;
  • A safe and secure community for all, including traffic calming, sidewalk improvement, and lighted crosswalks;
  • Implementing an Envision Eugene climate plan for responsible, sustainable growth (building up, along transportation corridors, not out).

Oregon in the midst of a housing crisis. Across the board, we see rampant homelessness, harsh addiction issues, and an alarming disinvestment in vital mental health services.

But impressive work has been done right here in Eugene to build more housing; convert vacant buildings and motels to affordable housing units; and prioritize necessary emergency respite, community supported shelter, and housing-first models.

Leaning-in to win-win housing solutions while strengthening relationships through our federal-state-county partnerships, service providers, local Labor allies, and local neighborhood associations remain hallmarks of Matt’s public service.

Together, we must continue to prioritize and tackle housing, climate, and mental health challenges. Your support in this effort is greatly needed and deeply appreciated.
