BISC strengthens democracy by building a national progressive strategy for ballot
The Ballot Initiative Strategy Center (BISC), a 501(c)(4) organization, is the only
progressive organization that works across the many policy, organizing and political
organizations to analyze and support the ballot measure landscape. We work with local, state, and national groups to develop the best overall strategy, and
support funders and partners to make the best investments. Our relationships with
organizations and funders, whether they are focused on short-term campaigns or
long-term movement building, makes us the only organization that bridges the many
gaps in a crowded space.
We envision a future in which progressive have harnessed the power of ballot
measures as proactive tools for success-- to increse civic engagement, enact
forward-looking policies, and strengthen progressive infrastructure in key states. We
can’t gamble on the possibility of redistricting and wait perhaps 10 years for state
legislatures to return to a more balanced state of play in order to enact the changes
we need in this country. That’s why we’re working with state and national partners to
build a strategic, coordinated national ballot measure strategy.
I am at least eighteen years old.
