Progressive Leadership Summit

The Black Caucus of the Young Democrats of America will hostits inaugural Progressive Leadership Summit in our nation’scapital, Washington, District of Columbia, during MLK Weekend 2016 (Friday,January 15-Monday, January 18, 2016).

PLS16 will allow attendees to participate in an intensetraining environment with workshops centered on two tracks: Engagement andActivism. PLS16 will provide elected officials and hopefuls with thestrategies, tactics, and tools needed to be successful in governing on day onealong with a realistic approach to campaign maintenance in preparation for the2020 election cycles from city halls and county commissions to the halls of Congress.We will also to provide attendees with a realistic and corporate approach to buildingProgressive organizations with infrastructures for sustainability, effectiveness,and impact. This training is not built for novices and those seekingentry-level positions on campaigns. Our target audience includes those withprofessional experience in civic engagement, campaigns, governing, andcommunity activism.
