9-19 6:00 pm Gifford Party

Pebble Gifford would like you to join her and her friends at a party for

Dennis Carlone, Candidate for Cambridge City Council

6 - 8 pm Thursday, September 19th

at Carlone Campaign Headquarters, 426 Broadway (at Ellery Street). Burritos from Felipe's Taqueria of Harvard Square, sweets from Crema, beer, & wine will be served.

Dennis is the perfect City Councillor for the times. Planning for People is his call to arms, and we need it now more than ever. The good news is that Cambridge is in the midst of a building boom with new projects popping up everywhere. The bad news is that, to date, the City has done little planning or design work for this new development and has failed to solicit residential and/or neighborhood input.

The practice until now for City departments has been to rush these large scale projects through the approval process with the cooperation of the City Manager and related City departments. This MUST CHANGE if Cambridge is to remain a viable and healthy city for all its residents – not just institutions and other large-scale developments.

DENNIS CARLONE is the candidate who can make this happen. He is the award winning Urban Designer & Architect responsible for the East Cambridge Riverfront redevelopment, and was a consultant to both the Planning Board and the Community Development Department for nearly 30 years. His campaign pledge is to make sure that all city planning and design decisions improve the quality of life for all the people, not just the developers -- and I believe him. Let’s support him now with our time and our resources, and make Planning for People a Priority.

Garage Parking is available across the street at the main library until 9:00 pm sharp. There is also on-street parking.

It is extraordinarily expensive to run for city council these days, about $40,000. In fact, most incumbents will spend far more. The maximum that a person can give is $500, that is $1,000 for a couple. But every single contribution helps so please do what you can.
