Chump!

Goal thermometer

The organization that reached and inspired millions with Sarah Silverman’s viral video The Great Schlep in 2008 has brought together a powerhouse team (think awards season quality) to develop “Chump,” an original musical inspired by Charlie Chaplin’s "The Great Dictator."

Independent productions of Chump will be produced locally by regional theaters and college students -- particularly in electorally critical states.

Instead of charging a fee for the musical, we are requiring that at every performance, audience members will be able to register to vote and sign up to volunteer. We will maximize every bit of energy poured into these shows by encouraging coverage in the local press and shared video versions of Chump on social media.

Together it will be one of the largest scale participatory cultural projects in the history of US elections.

These are the kinds of songs that will stick with viewers long after the show is over. Need proof? Listen to Chump Time in the video above, an ode to the candidate sung by his biggest fans, fresh off their violent attacks on “protesters” at a Chump rally. The songs in Chump reflect a range of style, from ska to showtunes, from rock and roll to rap.

Chump will make people laugh a lot, maybe cry a little, will help inspire and activate millennials, moderates and on-the-fence democrats to vote, volunteer and make a difference.

Help us make history! Time is short and stakes are high. We have created an extraordinary musical with huge potential. And we need your help to make it happen. Donate now!
