Jim Crary is the Democrat who can win in our rural District 2. Greg Walden has grown overconfident in his 20 years in Congress. Our Congressional District has the MOST citizens who benefited from the ACA of any GOP district in the country, yet Walden wants to strip those benefits from every one of our rural counties.
Jim Crary listens to constituents, takes notes, and will work for us, putting people over pocketbooks. These are Jim's biggest concerns:
Climate Change Reducing our dependence on fossil fuels can happen by creating energy independent communities with clean energy. Jim supports a carbon tax to wean us off of planet-endangering fossil fuels.
Affordable Health Care About a third of people living in CD 2 have been helped to get health insurance either by the ACA’s system of expanding Medicaid eligibility or from the ACA’s financial subsidies, which assist Americans who earn too much to qualify for Medicaid but can’t afford to buy health insurance on their own. These are the same people who are going to lose the most under the Republican plan to repeal and replace the ACA.
Campaign Finance Reform Public opinion on issues has almost zero impact on decisions made by Congress. Instead, our representatives -- who must raise almost $1500 every single day -- follow the lead of lobbyists and big businesses that donate heavily to their reelection campaigns. Jim has already drafted a Constitutional Amendment to reverse Citizens United and put us -- the voters -- in the driver's seat.
