Damali for 1 Chelsea

Goal thermometer

I am Damali Vidot and I am running for Chelsea City Council-At-Large.

Raised and educated in Chelsea public schools, this city has been the bedrock of my life. My community, along with my devoted family is the source of my daily motivation as a community advocate to improve the quality of life where we live, work, and play.

Being a lifelong resident, I have experienced the financial hardships and street culture that holds too many of us hostage, often resulting in many slipping through the cracks or leaving Chelsea altogether.  I made the decision to invest in my community as it has in me.

As a proud mom, homeowner, former street youth worker, small business owner, and community advocate, I am running for Chelsea City Council-At-Large to work directly with Chelsea residents to build broad and diverse coalitions that make our local government transparent and inclusive of all its residents.

In my role as a community advocate, I’ve attended countless community meetings, city council hearings and my experience has been that our concerns often go unnoticed or are dismissed altogether. The current disconnect between city government and Chelsea residents comes at a time of major economic, housing development, and ongoing public safety challenges.  Our community is changing, one street corner at a time, and it is fundamental that our local leaders and residents understand the importance of coming together to build one unified voice that’s reflective of every single resident in the city of Chelsea.

I am running for Chelsea City Council-At-Large because we need transformative leadership that understands that the needs and participation of our children, youth and seniors is essential to promoting one Chelsea.  As your next Chelsea City Councilor, I am committed to authentic leadership, government transparency and development without displacement.

More importantly, your voice and personal experience is the foundation of this campaign. I ask for your vote for the primary elections on Tuesday, September 22nd.  The top six vote-getters move on to the general elections.  With your support, together we can create one Chelsea that is vibrant, undivided and has a local government that’s reflective of its community.
