The Democratic
Party of Virginia Labor Council
The Democratic Party of Virginia Labor Council is designed to create a mutually beneficial and consistent relationship between Labor Unions, local elected officials, Democratic candidates, and the Democratic Party of Virginia. Unions that participate in the DPVA Labor Council Membership are invited to four quarterly meetings with local elected officials, Democratic candidates, and DPVA staff. This is an annual membership program: the level the Union contributes at determines the number of meetings and the number of union members and representatives that can attend each meeting.
These four quarterly meetings are for Unions to inform and educate candidates and elected officials about the current achievements and struggles Unions and workers across Virginia experience. The Labor Council creates a space for Unions and Democrats in VA to learn from one another and to hold each other accountable. Each quarter the meeting will be located in different region of Virginia and local elected officials and candidates from the region will participate in these meetings.
