Maurice Simpson, Jr., is a rising star in the Maryland Democratic Party. With over 60,000 votes, he was elected one of the youngest Delegates to nominate Secretary Hillary Clinton at the Democratic National Convention.

Simpson is serving his third term as president of the Prince George’s County Young Democrats, an At-Large member of the DNC Youth Council, active with the Prince George's NAACP and a member of First Baptist Church of Glenarden. Additionally, Maurice is a “Forty UNDER 40” honoree of the Prince George’s County Social Innovation Fund and recognized as one of the D.C. metropolitan area’s “Top 30 Under 30″ leaders by 93.9 WKYS.

Born and raised in Prince George’s County, Maurice is a 2007 graduate of Charles Herbert Flowers High School, Clark Atlanta University and is currently a night student at the University of Baltimore School of Law. Professionally, Maurice works full-time for the Prince George’s County Council.
