Alicia Hyndman is a working mother of two and a lifelong community advocate. For the past decade she has volunteered as a member of District 29's Community Education Council. She was elected President of CEC 29 for four years straight, and under her leadership, helped deliver funding from the City's Capital Plan and implement Middle School Choice for Southeast Queens' parents, in concert with community stakeholders.

As an Assistant in the Higher Education Division of the NYS DOE, she helped to facilitate the creation of the Long Island Barber Institute, which led to job opportunities for hundreds of Southeast Queens residents.

Alicia is Running for State Assembly To:
  • Increase transparency at DOE
  • Fight for an increase in the minimum wage
  • Protect seniors and homeowners
  • Expand after-school and education programs
