Senator Robert Wirch (D-22nd District) is one of the fourteen Wisconsin state senators who removed themselves to Illinois in order to delay implementation of Scott Walker's infamous anti-labor legislation.Senator Wirch now faces an attempt to recall him from office. At the time of this writing a recall petition is under review by Wisconsin's Government Advisory Board. Senator Wirch must run in a special election this summer if the GAB allows this recall effort to go forward.Kenosha County Board Vice Chairman Fred Ekornaas has announced he will challenge state Sen. Robert Wirch, D-Pleasant Prairie, if a recall election is held this summer. Mr Ekornaas is also a sitting municipal judge in Bristol, Wisconsin. He is likely to have good name regognition amongst long-time Kenosha County voters. He is a well-credentialed candidate and his challenge must be taken seriously.This account has been created to direct funds from Democratic Party supporters from all points to assist Senator Wirch.
