In 2016 I was honored when I was elected to serve on the Manassas City Council. After careful consideration I have decided to seek reelection. In 2016 I ran a campaign seeking a Citizen Engaged Strategic Plan and having town halls on a regular basis. We now have Town Halls that are scheduled at least twice a year and a Citizen Engaged Strategic Plan is in the process currently. I have consistently worked with all citizens in Manassas since taking office on January 1, 2017. During my time on council I have lead efforts or been an integral part of:

•lead the efforts for Manassas to be recognized as a HEAL(healthy eating active living) City

•started the annual LGBTQ proclamation recognizing June as Gay Pride month,

•helped secure the needed funding for the reserve funds and to make sure it is included in future budgets for the city,

•improved governmental transparency by having our work sessions broadcast and recorded

•made policy change putting forward a process that defines how all council members can place items on the agenda

•implemented a policy and procedure for term limits on all city Boards, Committees, & Commissions.

•served as Chair for the Council Appointments Committee

•served on the Council Finance Committee and currently serve on the city Land Use committee.

•Represented Manassas on the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority Planning Coordination & Advisory Committee

•served as a Commissioner representing Manassas on the Virginia Railway Express Commission

•currently serving as the Vice-Chair of the Commission for the Omniride Bus Service

•recently elected as Vice-Chair Virginia on the Metropolitan Council of Governments Transportation Planning Board, of which I will become the Chair in 2022 if reelected to council.

•Co-hosted with Osbourn High School and the film makers of  “Heroin’s Grip” an event to help educate the community about the opioid crisis and resources available

•elected by council to serve as Vice Mayor

I am proud of what I have accomplished during my first 3 years to represent your concerns and priorities and I look forward to continuing this work in the next term. I would really appreciate your support, as I feel that my work as a City Councilwoman is not done. However, a campaign for reelection is expensive. In order to remain a Member of the Manassas City Council I will need the financial support of everyone. I am personally contributing money and ask that you donate any amount you can to help with this huge financial challenge. There are also many things you can do to help my campaign and any assistance you are able to provide is very appreciated. I am willing to do the hard work once elected, but I need your help to get reelected by expanding my voter base and reaching out to citizens who feel they have been under served in the past. Please help me remain on Manassas City Council representing the great community of Manassas City!
