As a parent of two daughters who will grow up in the Brookline Public Schools, few things are more important to me than ensuring that our students receive an education that enables them to thrive in the classroom and beyond. After nearly a decade of significant enrollment growth, many key decisions will need to be made in the coming years to make sure that our students continue to receive a high-quality education. Whether it’s deciding how the ninth elementary school will be programmed, how our high school will adjust to a population that is expected to exceed 2,700 students, or how to manage operating costs that are rising faster than the Town’s tax revenue, these decisions will require clear-eyed and pragmatic decision making. I am running for re-election to the Brookline School Committee because I believe that we can tackle the challenges facing our system in a responsible way without diminishing the academic experience of our students or compromising our core values.
