Yasmeen Bankole is a Trustee in the Village of Hanover Park and the first Nigerian-American ever elected in Illinois. A lifelong public servant with deep roots in the Northwest Suburbs, she was born in Chicago and raised in Hanover Park, worked her way through college and eventually worked in the offices of Congressman Krishnamoorthi and Senator Dick Durbin. She is an officer with the DuPage County NAACP.
