I am a volunteer with Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. As a mom of two beautiful daughters, I worry about their safety in our community in a variety of ways, especially around the issue of gun violence.I believe my work with Moms and their Be Smart program has given me an opportunity to make a tangible difference in making our community safer from gun violence. This June 2nd I’ll be wearing orange to recognize National Gun Violence Awareness Day and to honor victims of gun violence. I’m also raising money to support the work that I and thousands of others do in our state. I’m asking my friends to join in and make a donation of $11 to represent the fact that American kids 11x more likely to be die from gun violence than children in other developed countries. Will you join me?
I’m so passionate about this cause, and I appreciate the chance to share it with you and invite you to be part of ending gun violence, too. I’m happy to answer any questions you have, so please don’t hesitate to ask. Thank you.
