***Ticket sales for the 2021 Polk County Steak Fry
The Polk County Democratic Party is thrilled to announce Congresswoman Lauren Underwood as the headliner for the 2021 Polk County Steak Fry on Saturday, September 18! She will be joined by U.S. Senate candidates Abby Finkenauer and Glenn Hurst and gubernatorial candidates Deidre DeJear and Ras Smith. 3rd District Congresswoman Cindy Axne, 2nd District Congressional candidate Christina Bohannan, 1st District Congressional candidate Liz Mathis, Treasurer Michael Fitzgerald, Attorney General Tom Miller, and Auditor Rob Sand will also give remarks.
Congresswoman Lauren Underwood defeated a Republican incumbent to win the seat previously held by former House Speaker Dennis Hastert in 2018. When she was elected, she was the youngest Black woman to serve in Congress in American history. As a nurse and as a senior advisor to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, she has been a tireless champion for better healthcare and the Affordable Care Act. She was reelected in 2020.
With the delta variant of the coronavirus escalating, all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure a safe event. All attendees over the age of 12 must show proof of vaccination to be permitted entry into the event. Masks will be required in all high traffic areas. All meals will be served in to-go containers so that attendees can consume them safely on their own. Attendees will be required to socially distance in the large field used for the previous Steak Fry events. The more than 100 volunteers who host the Steak Fry will all be in masks.
Gates will open at 3:00 PM. The program is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM.
Individual tickets are available for just $35. Steak, chicken, or a vegan option will be included with sides in the ticket price. As always, kids 12 and under eat for free. TICKET SALES WILL END AT 12:00 PM ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 17. TICKETS WILL NOT BE SOLD AT THE GATES.

Friend ($100): Includes one meal and recognition at the event.
Supporter ($250): Includes two meals and recognition at the event.
Sponsor ($500): Includes up to four meals and recognition at the event.
Host ($1,500): Includes up to 6 meals and recognition at the event.
Defender ($2,500): Includes up to 12 meals and recognition at the event.
Host ($5,000): Includes up to 15 meals and recognition at the event.
