This week, we’re highlighting our candidate in Iowa House District 1, J.D. Scholten! J.D. is a former professional baseball player turned paralegal turned non-profit advocate. His priorities include lowering healthcare costs and expanding access to quality education. 


J.D. ran for Congress in the traditionally conservative 4th District of Iowa against US Representative Steve King in 2018, and against Randy Feestra in 2020. He shocked America by coming in 3 points behind Rep. Steve King in a district that Donald Trump won by 27% in 2016.
