Team Edifye x The Love We Don't See — Brake Light Block Party — Hosted By South LA Cafe
Edifye and The Love We Don’t See are teaming up with South LA Cafe for a mutual aid blowout in Leimert Park. On Wednesday, September 25th from 11-3, we’ll have a technician on site to check and replace brake lights — in a collective effort to protect Black and brown drivers from aggressive police traffic stops. The block party will also have hot lunches, cold drinks, groceries for families in need and civic engagement with our neighbors. And Team Edifye will be bringing out LA athletes with some local sports giveaways, to connect the city across the jersey to the people it represents.
To date, our Brake Light Block Party program has serviced 100+ vehicles and 600+ families. Our last LA event was at this same location in 2022! Your donation directly supports:
- The brake light bulbs
- Free lunch
- Additional grocery distribution
- All labor necessary to run this program
