Area Democrats and independent voters are invited to the 2024 NW Iowa Dinner With Democrats. Jess Piper, executive director of Blue Missouri and author of the Substack newsletter “The View from Rural Missouri,” will serve as the event’s keynote speaker.
Jess is a fierce advocate for rural communities and public schools. A born-and-bred Southerner, she taught American literature for 16 years before she decided to run for a house seat in Missouri’s first district in 2022. Although she lost that race, she continues her activism. She is the face of the "Dirt Road Democrat" movement in Missouri and has more than 200,000 people following her on social media.

Doors will open at 5:30 PM, meal service will begin at 5:50 PM, and the program will start at 6:30 PM.
Individual tickets are $25 per person. The dinner will be catered by Catalano’s Wood-Fired Pizza in Le Mars and will feature a variety of specialty pizzas along with salad. Beverages will include water, lemonade and iced tea, as well as drinks that can be purchased at a cash bar.
If tickets are still available the night of the dinner, they may be purchased at the door via cash, credit card or Venmo. There won’t be the ability to take credit or debit cards at the site.
