Annabelle "Belle" Everett, a longtime public servant—having served four terms as state treasurer and as a Democratic national committeewoman. Mrs. Everett, was the first woman in the Democratic Party to be elected to a state office when she won the race for treasurer in 1958. She was re-elected in 1960, 1962 and 1964. Mrs Everett was a Democratic committeewoman for 25 years starting in 1928.


Betty Lou McKenna

Was former Secretary/Clerk of Council for the City of Harrington, retired from Kent County Levy Court, and served on numerous campaigns for the Democrat party, including Joseph Biden’s campaign for Delaware State Senate and her late husband’s campaign, John Mckenna, former Levy Court Commissioner. Since 1960, she has been an active member of the Democrat party, including her service with the 28th Democrat District, Kent County Executive Committee, and the Recorder of Deeds for Kent County for over 20 years, until she retired.
