Raised in a farmworker family in Pinal County, Arizona, JoAnna Mendoza learned early what it means to struggle and persevere. Driven by a commitment to service, she joined the U.S. Navy at 17 before serving a 20-year career in the U.S. Marine Corps, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and service as a Drill Instructor. After retiring, she returned home to Arizona, where she is raising her son, Aidan, as a single mother and working to address the everyday challenges facing Arizona families—from the rising costs of food, gas, and housing to building stronger opportunities for working people.

From farm fields to the front lines, JoAnna Mendoza has spent her life serving others. Now, she’s ready to deliver results for Arizona.
