Thank you to all who attended the Berrien County Democratic Party's “5th Annual Fundraising Event: Democracy Takes Action" that was held Friday, June 12 at Shadowland on Silver Beach in St. Joseph.
The keynote was delivered by Barbara McQuade, former U.S. Attorney, New York Times Best-Selling Author, Co-Host of the #SistersInLaw Podcast, and University of Michigan Law Professor. McQuade’s latest book, “The Fix: Saving America from the Corruption of a Mob-Style Government” was released on June 2nd, providing a call to action, outlining common-sense reforms and strategies that can reclaim the rule of law and recenter democracy with the power of the people.
Additional speakers included Curtis Hertel, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party and State Representative Joey Andrews, of Southwest Michigan's 38th House District, and Amy Scrima, Chair of the BCDP.
Over 280 people attended, enjoying dinner, music, an awards presentation, and visits with local candidates and elected officials. Everyone present was encouraged to take action in the coming months to engage voters, protect our elections, and elect Democrats up and down the ballot in November.
We will continue to accept donations on this page through June 30 to support the work of getting Democrats elected in November. Please see the information to the right for ways in which we can put your donations to use.
