Two years ago, our community came together for a virtual fundraiser that raised $35,000 for Cori Bush. That night was a powerful reminder of what is possible when people unite behind courageous leadership.
Not long after, outside money flooded the race. American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and allied groups spent unprecedented sums, turning the race into one of the most expensive primaries in American history and ultimately unseating Cori with a wave of attacks and misinformation.
But Cori Bush’s story—and her leadership—has never been defined by a title. Before Congress, Cori was a nurse, a pastor, and a community organizer in St. Louis. She became a national voice during the Ferguson protests, standing with her community in the streets and helping spark what we now call the Movement for Black Lives.
That same courage defined her time in Congress. Cori fought for working families, for disaster relief when floods devastated Missouri communities, and for bold national policies like Medicare for All, expanded Social Security, and basic rights like housing, water, and electricity.
And when the war in Gaza escalated in 2023, Cori was one of the first members of Congress willing to speak the truth—calling the unfolding catastrophe what it was and demanding accountability when many others stayed silent.
Because that’s who Cori Bush has always been: a leader who speaks truth, even when it comes at a cost.
Today, the stakes are bigger than any one race. Across the country, communities are facing rising costs, shrinking safety nets, and growing political extremism. The choice voters make in St. Louis will send a message far beyond Missouri about what kind of leadership we want in this moment.
The last election showed how closely people across the country are watching. Outside spending turned this race into a national test case for whether powerful interests can target and remove leaders who challenge them—or whether grassroots movements can come together to defend them. What happens in St. Louis will shape how similar fights unfold in communities across the country.
Cori’s opponent represents a very different approach to politics—one tied to establishment interests and backed by powerful outside forces.
Cori represents something else entirely: leadership rooted in community, courage, and accountability to the people.
And even after leaving office, Cori never stopped showing up. When storms and disasters hit her district, she was back on the ground helping families recover—because for her, this work has never been about power. It has always been about people.
Now we’re coming together again to support her return to Congress.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to help power this campaign and build the kind of leadership our country urgently needs.
