South Asians in the State House
South Asian American political power is being flexed where it matters most: not Washington, but statehouses, where school funding, tax policy, voting access, and reproductive rights are decided down the hall from a governor's office, often by a handful of votes, and where Trump-aligned Republicans are increasingly testing how far they can push.
This year, five South Asian candidates are standing in some of the most competitive legislative districts in the country, and the outcomes will help decide who holds power and how far it reaches into people's daily lives.
Hard fought races in state capitals shape outcomes such as whether Trump-aligned Republicans redraw the maps or target immigrant families and community safety funding in the state budget.

- I am not a lobbyist registered in North Carolina
- I am making this contribution with my own personal credit card and not with a corporate or business credit card or a card issued to another person.
- This contribution complies with the provisions of the Ethics in Government Act, O.C.G.A. Sec 21-5-30, et seq.
- This contribution is not owned, in whole or in part, by a regulated entity or public agency.
