Support Tammy Duckworth

Illinois is critical for Democrats to keep control of the U.S. Senate — and we couldn’t ask for a more resilient candidate than Tammy Duckworth.

Since her election to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012, Duckworth has fought for working families, women and veterans.

Duckworth came to Congress as an advocate for veterans on both the state and federal level, where she focused on programs to alleviate suffering from Post Traumatic Stress and to reduce homelessness among veterans.

Duckworth’s commitment to veterans comes out of her own service. In 2004 during the Iraq war, Duckworth’s helicopter was hit by a rocket propelled grenade. She lost both legs and partial use of her right arm in the explosion.
