48th Ward Dems Membership Dues

48th Ward Dems membership is $5/month. Be sure to select the "Make it Monthly!" option to ensure that your membership dues are paid every month.

Becoming a dues paying member of the 48th Ward Dems allows you to support our mission of electing progressive leaders up and down the ballot. Dues paying members are given a vote in the endorsement process.

Per our By-laws, membership is open to people who live in the 48th ward that support the purpose of the Organization, as outlined below:

To support worthy Democratic candidates in elections within the 48th Ward of the City of Chicago
To support candidates endorsed by the Organization in seeking nominations from the Cook County Democratic Party or the Democratic Party of Illinois to run as the Democratic candidate in elections within the 48th Ward
To support candidates endorsed by the Organization and/or by the Cook County Democratic Party or the Democratic Party of Illinois in Democratic primary elections within the 48th Ward
To promote Democratic values and policies and to educate residents of communities in or near the 48th Ward on public policy issues at local, state, and national levels affecting the 48th Ward
To promote grassroots political involvement, participation, and community connection in service of Democratic values
To register new voters, activate volunteers to elect Democrats locally and nationally, and increase turnout among Democratic voters in the 48th Ward.

Contribution rules

I am at least eighteen years old.
This contribution is made from my own funds, and funds are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.
I am a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident (i.e., green card holder).
I understand that by ordinance of the City of Chicago, no lobbyist registered with the Board of Ethics, or person who has done business with City within the preceding four reporting years, or person who is seeking to do business with the City, shall contribute over $1,500 during a calendar year. This includes persons doing or seeking to do business with the: City of Chicago, Chicago Transit Authority, Board of Education, Chicago Park District, Chicago City Colleges, Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, Chicago Housing Authority, or Public Building Commission.
