Six-week abortion ban in Florida

In a deeply troubling move, the Supreme Court of Florida upheld the 15-week ban, therefore a 6-week abortion ban goes into effect May 1, 2024.


For all purposes, this is a total abortion ban, and will require nearly every person needing an abortion to travel out of state in order to access the care they need.This means that 90% of the women that the Women’s Emergency Network serves will be faced with increased distress in addition to an increased financial burden, as they are forced to travel across the country for care.
