Aber Kawas

Hello, I'm Aber Kawas!

I’m a community organizer and democratic socialist running to represent parts of Astoria, Jackson Heights, Woodside, East Elmhurst, and Corona in the New York State Assembly.

I’m the daughter of Palestinian refugees, born and raised in a working class family in New York City, impacted by the same cruel immigration system that is harming the people of Queens today. These experiences shaped me into the organizer I am today — determined to build power for poor and working people, so that everyone can live a life with equal dignity.

Our grassroots movement relies on small dollar donations to win. Every donation powers our campaign to win an affordable New York for all, dignity and safety for immigrants, and fast, reliable transit for our community.

In-district donations are especially powerful, as they are eligible to be matched up to 12x under New York's matching funds program.
