The Alliance of Black Nurses Association of Oregon (ABNAO), is the local chapter of the National Black Nurses Association. We are an organization dedicated to nurturing an empowered Black nursing community across the state of Oregon. With a mission focused on promoting solidarity, professional enrichment, and collaborative partnerships, we are committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives and careers of Black nurses. We believe that by uplifting and empower Black nurses, we are uplifting and empowering the Black community.


At ABNAO, we believe in the power of community and the importance of representation within the nursing profession. Our organization serves as a supportive network for Black nurses, providing resources, mentorship opportunities, and a platform for professional development. By fostering a sense of solidarity among our members, we aim to address the unique challenges faced by Black nurses and empower them to excel in their careers.


Through our programs and initiatives, we strive to promote professional enrichment by offering educational workshops, seminars, and networking events tailored to the needs of Black nurses. These opportunities not only facilitate skill development and career advancement but also foster a sense of belonging and empowerment within the nursing community.


Additionally, ABNAO actively seeks to establish collaborative partnerships with healthcare institutions, academic organizations, and community stakeholders to advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion within the healthcare field. By working together, we can create positive change and ensure that Black nurses have equal opportunities to thrive and succeed.


However, to continue our important work and expand our impact, we rely on the generosity of supporters like you.
