OUR PURPOSE

Above the EDGE inspires, educates and guides youth by engaging them in experiences that enhance their self-empowerment and provide them with vital support as they develop both deep purpose and a healthy passion for life.

OUR VISION

Above the EDGE envisions a society where human dignity and human potential are maximized, where youth are inspired and elders are respected in an atmosphere of continuous learning and growth in all dimensions of personal and social human being.

OVERVIEW

For 13 years, youth and young adults have been accelerating and applying our effective EDGE (Excel Dreams Goals Education) pedagogy to their everyday lives. Above the EDGE (hereinafter, ATE) specializes in youth and young adult leadership development that engages, educates and serves within various socioeconomic strata. Focused curricula in Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (hereinafter, STEM) education and career counseling utilize multicultural awareness, sports and fitness as an attractive vehicle to focus young talents, curiosities and interests. ATE is linking the Twin Cities to greater Minnesota and beyond to national exposure in STEM. ATE is a proven and effective linchpin, preventing unhinged aspirations and veered entrance into the 21st century's workforce for presently marginalized groups of youth and young adults.

PURPOSE OF FUNDING

We seek to increase student interests, knowledge and skills in the areas of STEM, while simultaneously improving their interpersonal and intrapersonal confidence and skills. Our successful STEM program facilitates the development of students in those vital social areas as well as in the STEM content areas. Our program consists of dialogues, workshops, expert presentations, videos, self-designed student projects and STEM guest speakers.
