ACLU of Ohio Voter Impact Fund

ACLU of Ohio's Voter Impact Fund

The ACLU of Ohio is proud to present our Voter Impact Fund, a new initiative created specifically to ensure we remain a trusted leader and resource in campaign and political engagement for years to come.

We started the Voter Impact Fund in December 2024 as a response to the passage of H.B. 1 in Ohio, a highly restrictive and punitive campaign finance law. This detrimental law requires that organizations like the ACLU can verify that funding for electoral work come only from individuals and entities who have attested to their U.S. Citizenship.

The ACLU of Ohio served as a successful leader in two ballot measures campaigns in 2023. Our fierce dedication to integrated advocacy – the intertwining of our diverse departments – allows us to utilize robust resources statewide to educate and mobilize voters.

The funds raised through the Voter Impact Fund will be exclusively c4 and used for our highly impactful work, including:

  • Advocating for or against the passage of statewide and local ballot measures
  • Voter education initiatives
  • Candidate and electoral information

The Voter Impact Fund is the sole financial pathway that enables us to continue supporting voters and issues that resulted in our history making victories of 2023.

Preserving direct democracy is essential in a state that is so severely gerrymandered and is the remaining failsafe way for Ohioans to attain majority rule. The Voter Impact Fund is just one way the ACLU of Ohio is ensuring that we are protecting people, not those in power.

The ACLU of Ohio has existed for more than 100 years, and we’re not finished with our critical work – we are just getting started. By donating the Voter Impact Fund, you are joining us as we continue to fight to protect the civil rights and liberties of all Ohioans.
