Advocacy 2023

Dear Fellow Democrat,

 

What a year 2022 has been. Venango county showed incredible improvement over previous elections. Even though our statewide candidates did not win the county, the increased margins here and in other rural counties helped propel them to the win the state and set records:

·        for the first time since 1947, Democrats hold both Senate seats in PA

·        for the first time since 1847 Dems have won a third consecutive Gubernatorial race

·        and Dems now have a slim majority (102-101) in the state house

 

Locally, our group:

·        works hard to bring candidates to bring candidates to Venango for meet-and-greets and other events to get the vote out for Dems

·        hosted 350 Dems at Demstock at the Venango County Fairgrounds in August

·        seen gains in the previous election cycles

·        are working to engage young people in Venango, ¾ of our officers are under the age of 30

·        will provide Christmas and Easter dinners (in a joint effort with organized labor) to the community for the 3^rd year running

 

We continue to maintain our office space in Oil City which has been used by candidates for meet-and-greets, etc. We are one of only a handful of rural counties who hold a physical space year-round with such a space. 

 

The Venango Dems are launching the Advocacy campaign for 2023 with a goal of raising $10,000 to maintain our presence in Venango County. The funds will be used for

·        Rent for our space in the National Transit Building

·        Christmas and Easter Dinners for those in need in our communities

·        Expenses involved with candidate visits

·        Maintaining our website and social media

·        Advertising

·        Getting our candidates elected

 

This year our advocacy will change a bit – the suggested donation will no longer be $100 but will be whatever you feel you are able to give to help us reach our goals in Venango County however, anyone who donates $100 or more will receive a Venango County Democrats polo shirt. Donations of $50-99 will receive a Biden or Fetterman coffee mug. 

Every donation helps us reach our goal and to ensure that the Venango Dems remain a viable group that helps our candidates get elected and provides community service to the residents of Venango County.
