Ady Barkan's call for Medicare for All
Today, ALS advocate Ady Barkan would've celebrated his 40th birthday.
Even when he lost the ability to speak, Ady spent most days at the end of his life fighting for universal healthcare. In 2019, his call for #MedicareForAll brought this hearing to a standstill.
I've seen ALS take far too many far too soon. I've seen what the lack of access to palliative care does to families.
Five years later, we still haven't done enough.
GoFundMe is not an acceptable substitute for Congressional action on healthcare reform.
