Americans for Financial Reform

Join the Live Stream and Fund the fight to save the CFPB from Musk and Trump’s takeover now!

The CFPB has been under attack since the day it was created because it does something that banks, payday lenders, and Wall Street billionaires despise: it wrestles YOUR money back from corporations that ripped you off.

Americans for Financial Reform fought to establish the CFPB in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. Since then, we have worked to defend, expand, and strengthen the agency as it has obtained more than $21 billion in relief (cancelled debts, reduced mortgage payments, better credit scores, etc.) for wronged consumers and taken on some of the worst financial abuses in the country.

We have also pushed the CFPB to crack down on predatory payday lenders, hidden junk fees, and racial discrimination in banking. We helped drive its efforts to remove medical debt from credit reports, lower credit card late fees, and expose deceptive lending practices that target Black and Brown communities.

These are the very protections that Musk and Trump want to destroy.

This is an all-hands-on-deck moment. We have stopped them before. But we can only do it again if we act now. Contribute to Americans for Financial Reform and fund the fight to stop Musk and Trump from dismantling the CFPB now.
