Americans for Financial Reform

Fund the fight to expose the rigged property insurance system now >>

The insurance industry is quietly penalizing millions of homeowners just for having a lower credit score, regardless of the risks to their properties. Our new report shows how insurers are using hidden data and biased algorithms to push prices higher for people in communities of color and lower-income neighborhoods.

We just released the most comprehensive research to date on this systemic injustice. It’s already in the hands of lawmakers and regulators, helping shape hearings, legislation, and investigations. But the industry is fighting back, and they want to keep these practices buried.

AFR is on the ground in Washington right now, briefing congressional staff, educating the press, and calling for urgent regulatory action to rein in discriminatory insurance pricing. But going up against an industry this powerful takes real resources, and they’re betting we won’t have enough to keep the pressure on.

Contribute to Americans for Financial Reform and fund the fight to expose the insurance industry's discrimination and demand a fair system that works for all.
