Americans for Financial Reform

Fund the fight to expose hidden insurance pricing and stop unfair home insurance costs now

Home insurance costs are rising across the country, but the real story is not just about rising climate damages and construction costs.

Insurance companies are using credit scores, occupations, and level of education to charge people more, even when it has nothing to do with how likely they are to experience a climate disaster.

Families are being penalized simply for their financial background, while insurers quietly maintain or even expand profits.

At the same time, weak oversight in many states allows companies to push through rate hikes with limited scrutiny. Regulators are often outmatched, and consumers are left paying the price.

Americans for Financial Reform is taking this fight head on. We are exposing these practices in national media, breaking them down on social platforms to reach millions of people, and building public pressure to force lawmakers to act.

We are also advancing policy solutions in Congress and in the states to ban unfair pricing practices, strengthen oversight of insurance rate increases, and protect families from being exploited by hidden algorithms and financial profiling.

The insurance industry has deep pockets and powerful lobbyists. They are counting on staying out of the spotlight. We are making sure that does not happen.

Contribute to Americans for Financial Reform and fund the fight to expose hidden insurance pricing, hold companies accountable, and stop unfair home insurance costs now.
