Americans for Financial Reform

Fund the fight to stop Congress from banning AI regulation nationwide

Congress is considering a sweeping ban that would block states from regulating artificial intelligence for years. If it passes, Wall Street, Big Tech, and data brokers would get a free pass to deploy untested and opaque AI systems without meaningful accountability.

This proposal would strip states of their power to protect people from algorithmic discrimination, AI-driven financial fraud, invasive surveillance, and abusive automated decision-making. It would lock in a no-rules zone just as AI is reshaping credit, workplaces, commerce, and access to essential services.

Americans for Financial Reform is leading the fight to stop this giveaway. We are working with civil rights groups, consumer advocates, and state leaders to expose what this ban would actually do and to demand that Congress strengthen safeguards instead of tearing them down.

Industry lobbyists are spending heavily to push this scheme. We do not take corporate money. Our work depends on people who believe that AI abuses and risks must be prevented.

Your support helps fund research, advocacy, coalition-building, and direct pressure on Congress to stop this dangerous preemption effort.
