The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has returned more than $21 billion to people since 2011. That is money clawed back from abusive lenders, predatory banks, and fraudulent actors in the financial system. And that is why the CFPB is under attack.
ProPublica just revealed the hypocrisy: GOP lawmakers who referred their own constituents to the CFPB for help voted to gut the agency’s funding. They know the CFPB works. But they would rather do Wall Street’s bidding than protect the people they serve.
We need to call out the lies. Expose the hypocrisy. Organize pressure. And defend the CFPB with everything we’ve got. Your donation will help fund the fight to stop Congress from dismantling the only agency dedicated to consumer protection.
Contribute to Americans for Financial Reform and fund the fight to protect the CFPB now.
