Americans for Financial Reform

Fund the fight to protect nonprofits and the communities they serve from this dangerous MAGA attack now.

The House passed Trump-aligned tax package is more than just a gift to the rich, it’s a direct attack on the nonprofit organizations that protect our rights, defend consumers, and deliver critical services in every community.

Tucked inside the GOP’s sweeping tax bill are dangerous provisions that would slash charitable giving incentives, burden nonprofits with new taxes, and, most outrageously, give the executive branch sweeping power to revoke nonprofit status at will. This isn’t about reform. This is about silencing opposition and gutting civil society.

Make no mistake, these changes will devastate the very groups that help working families navigate the financial system, challenge predatory lenders, and fight scams. These are the organizations, our partners, our allies, that stand between you and corporate abuse. AFR is proud to be part of that coalition, and we’re not staying silent.

Fortunately, the Senate can still strip it from the legislation. That gives us a critical window to act -- but with votes expected quite possibly this coming week -- that window is closing fast.
