Hello Everyone,
Standing up for Rockfordians has been a major theme of work around Bill Rose's constituent service to the 815 community.
In social issues, Bill has been a devout supporter of all minority groups in the region. When the Sheriff tried to bring an ICE Detention facility, Bill led efforts to block it and showed up for our Hispanic community. When efforts were made to try and kill the Barber Colman project in Southwest Rockford, Bill joined the Black Caucus in ensuring that the project moved forward for minority neighborhoods. The project is underway and will be one of the highlighting votes of Bill's career.
When the Casino was applying to be the single Casino license, Bill ensured that poor neighborhoods would see an impact with an annual investment made by HardRock to impoverished neighborhoods. His support for minority owned businesses brought forth his support at city council for the Think Big Initiative (Black and Minority Own Business Incubator). He also recently passed a grant that provides more access to funds to minority owned businesses.
Bill has advocated for LGTBQ + individuals and has worked with the mayor's office to get us a top ranking in the country, making Rockford safe for people of all backgrounds. Bill's work helped write the Community Relations Commission. When conservatives tried to block the commission from forming and other issues like access of women's health centers in Rockford, Bill worked with Democrats to ensure these items passed at council.
Bill Rose looks out for our vulnerable communities and will be a leading voice when Donald Trump tries to bully state and local politicians. We need strong voices at the table, which is why Bill needs your help.
A five, ten, or twenty five dollar donation goes a long way to ensuring that the West side of town has a strong voice, and that the city understands the voices of all who live here.
