¡Alianza, Presente!

Two trailblazing organizations celebrate 25 years of building transformative power across issues.

Founded in 2009, Presente builds power in Latinx communities through dynamic (online and grassroots) organizing and culture shift strategies. We remain at the forefront of building Latinx power, changing culture, and staying ¡Presente!

Fifteen years ago, Alianza Americas (originally called National Alliance of Latin American and Caribbean Communities) began with its first gathering of immigrant organizational leaders. They continue to center Latin American immigrant voices at the forefront of transnational campaigns for justice and in resistance to assaults on immigrant communities and people seeking refuge.

Together, we address economic justice (housing, wage theft, predatory lending), environmental justice (a front-line community impacted by climate change), criminal justice (ending mass incarceration), immigrants’ and refugees’ rights (family unity, human rights, criminal justice intersections), and corporate accountability (media representation, private prisons/detention centers).
