Born and raised right here in Philly, Allen King knows how easy it is for a zipcode to define your destiny. Growing up in West Philly, Allen saw drug dealers on his block with the nicest cars, clothes, and jewelry. It would have been easy for him to fall in with that crowd. Instead, he worked hard and was accepted to Masterman, one of the best public schools in Pennsylvania, where he saw the success that education and hard work can bring.

He made the most of his opportunity, graduating and going on to do a dual degree program with Rosemont College and Villanova University, getting a BS in Marketing and a MBA focused on finance. He went on to be a founding partner and Chief Product Officer for JetSense.AI, an AI-powered conversational marketing platform from which he built the first chatbot for the NFL and partnered with UCLA to create a first-in-class student retention communications platform. He went on to build one of the first chatbots, exiting his company and becoming a successful executive consulting for the Fortune 1000. 

Then, last year, tragedy struck his family. Allen's sister Rachel, a 5th grade teacher at Grover Cleveland Elementary , was shot and killed in cold blood. In the days that followed this senseless tragedy, Allen filed for custody of Rachel's 11 year old son Jalen, going from uncle to so much more in a matter of hours. He knew in that moment that he had to do more to create a city of safety and opportunity for his beloved nephew.

Now, Allen is running for Senate to bring the opportunity he had to every corner of our Commonwealth, and  eradicate the scourge of gun violence so no family has to go through what he has.
