Join us for a special evening with North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Allison Riggs, Lynne Russo, candidate for NC House District 117, and Mary Ellen Kustin, candidate for Henderson County Board of Education.

This is a unique opportunity to hear from three women serving and seeking to serve North Carolina at three important levels, from our state's highest court to the General Assembly to our local public schools.

Justice Allison Riggs serves as an Associate Justice on the North Carolina Supreme Court. Before joining the Supreme Court in 2023, she served on the North Carolina Court of Appeals and spent 14 years as a civil rights attorney. During her legal career, she argued twice before the United States Supreme Court. Justice Riggs has built her career around public service, the rule of law, and ensuring that every North Carolinian is treated fairly under the law.

Lynne Russo is a Western North Carolina small-business owner and community advocate running for NC House District 117 to give Henderson County a stronger voice in Raleigh. Since Hurricane Helene, Lynne has worked alongside communities across Western North Carolina and has made recovery and resilience central to her campaign. She is running to lower costs for families, strengthen public schools, protect local decision-making, and make sure the needs of Henderson County and our mountain communities are heard in Raleigh.

Mary Ellen Kustin brings years of public policy and community experience to her campaign for Henderson County Board of Education. She currently serves as Director of Community Impact for United Way of Henderson County, working directly with local organizations and community partners. Her background also includes public policy work in conservation, agriculture, and environmental issues, and she holds graduate degrees in public policy and sustainable development and conservation biology. Mary Ellen is running to keep Henderson County's public schools strong, make sure educators and students have the resources they need, and put students at the center of School Board decisions.

Together, these three women represent something powerful: experienced, community-focused leadership at the judicial, state, and local levels.

NC House District 117 is one of the most competitive legislative races in Western North Carolina, and the Henderson County Board of Education will make decisions with a direct impact on our students, teachers, families, and community for years to come.
