Adina's IfNotNow Hannukah Fundraising Page

Hi Friends! I want to tell you a little bit about an organization that has become increasingly important to me. Over the past year, I have become involved with IfNotNow - an emergent millennial movement of young American Jews working to end our community’s support for the occupation. IfNotNow is grounded in the belief that the liberation of Jews is bound up with other oppressed groups, both in this country and in Israel/Palestine.

It has been a while since I have felt truly comfortable within an organization working on Israel/Palestine, but IfNotNow is different. IfNotNow is able to bring different perspectives about Israel and Palestine respectfully into one room, training or protest without judgement, driven by love. Through IfNotNow, I have actually been able to reengage with my love for Israel, leading from a place of healing and compassion rather than shame. With IfNotNow, I have been able to find my progressive voice on this topic, and found a way to care for Jews, Israelis and Palestinians together in one space.

I have also been incredibly proud of the way that IfNotNow has shown up over the past few weeks, representing the #JewishResistance, speaking out against cabinet appointments that will further the impact of racism, hatred, antisemitism and bigotry in the United States. I believe that IfNotNow is engaging a group of young Jews who might not otherwise find their home within the Jewish community and giving them a voice.

While I know that this year more than ever we are all thinking about the myriad of organizations that are dear to our hearts and making impossible choices about where to give our precious dollars, I hope you will join me in making whatever contribution you can - even $18 makes a significant impact - towards this growing community of Jewish activists. I believe in this movement and I believe that this work will strengthen the Jewish community for generations to come.

I am so appreciative of you and your support and I am grateful to be in this work with you.

With love,
Adina
