I remember where I was when I first heard about Sandy Hook on 12/14/12. I was picking up my daughter who was in kindergarten. Her classroom was on the first floor, right near a door that lead to the outside. A mom was crying and told me what happened and I was unable to grasp the words she was saying.
Since that day I drop my daughters off with reservations, knowing that school is not a safe place; and that is in no way okay.
So today I stand with some of the fiercest people in the fight against gun violence. I am lucky to be a part of Moms Demand Action and this movement.
